Update nowOur story began back in 2000, with nothing more than an ingenious method for coating light alloys. Since then, the company has grown exponentially. We now deploy industrialised coatings worldwide, bespoke to each and every application.
Founded in 2000, Keronite launched with a simple mission: advance materials science through Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation.
After receiving a surge in international interest, Keronite formed a North American subsidiary. Keronite Inc. was created to cater to the growing demand from the U.S., and the aerospace and automotive industries in particular.
Three years after entering the U.S., Keronite Inc. moved into a purpose-built PEO facility in Greenwood, Indiana. The new location massively increased production capacity and the efficiency of PEO.
Azini Capital Partners LLP acquired Keronite in 2007. Azini are a specialist investor in high-growth technology companies.
2012 saw the company relocate its headquarters. Haverhill, the destination, has strong links to Cambridge, the UK’s technology hub.
The facility further increased production capacity and expanded our R&D capabilities. It also enabled the company to acquire top PhD talent from Cambridge University.
In 2014, Keronite opened it’s first automated PEO production line in the UK. Created for high-volume processing, the automated process enhanced Keronite’s global competitiveness.
Keronite earned AS9100 certification for both PEO production facilities in 2016.
The certification recognises Keronite’s quality management systems in design, development, production, installation and servicing PEO coatings.
Keronite invested over £1m in it’s Greenwood facilities to treble production capacity.
The investment came at a perfect time. Keronite secured multiple long-term deals with high-volume aerospace and semiconductor businesses in 2018.
In 2018, we opened the world’s first PEO-dedicated technology centre in the UK.
The new facility increased Keronite’s ability to develop new coatings, catering for growing demand in bespoke solutions.
Despite the turbulence of the manufacturing sector, Keronite’s management team navigated the pandemic and posted results 20% ahead of budget.
Crucially, the company retained key skills, and continued to grow despite global events.
In 2021, Keronite brought on exciting new blue chip technology customers – a 25% increase YoY, producing a 33% revenue growth over the same period.
In 2022, Keronite has planned facility and production expansion projects in both the UK and US.
A project is also underway to achieve NADCAP approval for both sites – the gold standard industry certification.
At the end of 2022, Curtiss Wright Surface Technologies (CWST) acquired Keronite bringing us into the Curtiss Wright family which has almost 100 years of expertise in material improvements and surface treatments.
We have successfully secured Nadcap accreditation for Chemical Processing at our Greenwood, IN facility.
Keronite awarded Boeing approval for 737NG landing gear repair service.
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been acquired by Curtiss-Wright
We develop bespoke surface coating solutions designed to extend the life of magnesium, aluminium and titanium.
